Offling privacy policy

Last updated: 10 October 2026. Applies to the Offling app for Android and iOS (iPhone version in development).

Prelaunch version for the test builds and this website. We will update this policy before the store launch.

Offling is a product of XPIT L.L.C., a Wyoming limited liability company ("we"). This policy explains what the app does with information.

The short version

  • No Offling account. Offling never asks for your name, email or phone number.
  • Your selected app, your break bank and your session history are stored on your phone. There is no Offling server that holds them.
  • To show the shield and count break time, Offling checks which app is in front. That check happens on your phone only. Offling never reads your messages, browsing or what you do inside apps.
  • A few simple usage events go to our analytics provider so we can see whether the app works. They never include which apps you chose.
  • On Android, Offling asks Google Play which campaign link led to the install (at most three tries). It keeps the campaign tags only; everything else in the link is discarded on your phone.

What stays on your phone

The app(s) you choose to shield, your rules, your break bank and ledger, your focus and break history, and your settings. "Start over" in Settings deletes all of it. Uninstalling the app deletes it too.

Android: Offling uses Usage access to know which app is in front, and "Display over other apps" to show the shield. iOS: Offling uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) permission; Apple keeps your app choices private and Offling only learns how many you picked.

What leaves your phone

DataSent toWhy
Usage events (for example "focus session finished", "break started", "paywall viewed", "purchase completed") with non-identifying details: rule, seconds, permission type, product ID, error code, app version, phone system, debug/release build, a random install IDPostHog (servers in the EU), as our service providerTo understand whether Offling helps people and where it fails. The event about choosing an app contains only the number of apps, never which ones.
Purchase status and history; a creator code if you enter oneRevenueCat, as our service provider, and Apple or Google, who process paymentsTo check whether Premium is active and credit a creator. Offling never sees your card, Apple ID or Google account. Purchases are not yet available.
Android only: the campaign tags of the link you installed from (source, medium, campaign and content, for example a platform name, "creator", a creator code and a clip label). Nothing else from the link is keptPostHog (servers in the EU) with one usage event, and RevenueCat with your purchase record, as our service providersTo see which campaign link led to an install and to credit the creator whose link you used. Purchases are not yet available.

Install source (Android only). The first time you open the app, Offling asks Google Play which campaign link led to the install (Google's Install Referrer API). If Google Play cannot answer, Offling asks again on a later launch, at most three times in total; once it has an answer, it does not ask again. From the answer it keeps only four campaign tags (source, medium, campaign and content, each a short label of letters, digits and a few symbols) and discards everything else on your phone, including any advertising or click identifier. The tags describe a link, not you. The iPhone app has no equivalent and reads nothing of the kind.

Offling does not sell personal information, does not use advertising IDs and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

How long we keep it

We have not set a fixed retention period for analytics events yet, and we will state it here before the store launch. Purchase records are kept by RevenueCat and the store for as long as needed to provide Premium and meet legal obligations.

Your choices and deletion

  • Turn restrictions off at any time in Settings; it is always free.
  • "Start over" deletes everything Offling stores on your phone, and uninstalling removes it too.
  • Events carry only a random install ID, so they are not linked to your name, email or phone number. To ask us to delete events linked to your install, email support@getoffling.com.

Children

Offling is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If what the app sends changes, this page and the in-app privacy screen change first.
